Focusing in on a unique surface phenomena found on an unnamed pier, the collective Anonymous Migrant [AM BY DESIGN] realised an intervention specifically designed to ‘let the surface speak’ through the creation of an aesthetic surface window and minimal geometric compositions painted onto the pier.

Collated in an unbound stack and printed in black and white on exquisite 170gsm Munken Polar paper, the publication contains predominantly analogue process photographs taken in the dead of night using flash, as well as a small number of digital photographs depicting aesthetic and surface contexts of the intervention. Includes a 'surface reading' text by architectural historian and urban scholar Dr. Sabina Andron.
